Mirror Work

Mirror work can be one of the most effective practices in building a child’s self-confidence and self-esteem. Mirror work is the practice of looking at oneself in the mirror and reciting a positive affirmation. This daily practice does wonders to the psyche. It can have transformative effects on children’s ability to destress, cope, and self-soothe. Being able to talk yourself out of negative thoughts by replacing them with positive ones puts you in control of the environment and sets you up for success. A simple, “You got this, You’re so smart,” can go a long way.
